The Practice
Khaitan & Co has a dedicated education practice with extensive transactional and advisory credentials. Our team has advised leading private equity firms, strategic investors, international education groups, top-tier international and Indian universities, K-12 providers and ed-tech companies on market-leading transactions in the Indian education sector.
Execution
We advise on entry and exit of foreign investors, private equity investments in the formal regulated segment and ed-tech or online segment, strategic acquisitions, alliances and joint ventures among foreign and Indian partners and corporate restructurings. In addition to transactional work, our education practice maintains long-standing relationships with and services a diverse client base comprising of domestic and foreign companies, universities and schools. This involves advising on entry of foreign universities in India, academic collaborations, articulation and pathways arrangements, greenfield and brownfield education projects, Indian taxation matters and structuring and regulatory matters with respect to UGC, AICTE and other Indian education regulators.
