Vidushi Gupta is a Partner in the Corporate and Commercial practice group in the Mumbai office. She specialises in M&A and private equity investments in the financial services sector.
Vidushi has extensive cross-border and domestic experience and has advised several clients, including on private equity investments, acquisitions, restructuring, strategic alliances, and general advisory relating to corporate and foreign investment laws. She has represented and advised several clients, including Axis Bank, Svatantra Microfin, Temasek, Aditya Birla Group, Northern Arc, Bravia Capital, Aadhar Housing Finance, IIFL Home Finance and Aseem Infrastructure Finance.
She is on the board of the Finance Industry Development Council (FIDC), a representative body of NBFCs registered with the Reserve Bank of India and has vast experience in advising industry associations to make sector vide representations to the regulators. She is also frequently invited by reputed publishers and journals to share her expert views.
Vidushi has been consistently recommended by many of the world’s leading accreditation bodies. She has been named in Forbes India as one of the top individual lawyers, listed in BW Legal World 40 under 40, recognised by Legal 500 as a Recommended Lawyer 2023 and featured as one of the most inspiring women lawyers to watch by CIAO magazine.

Svatantra Microfin (an Aditya Birla Group microfinance company)
Advised on the acquisition of Chaitanya India Fin Credit Private Limited and investment by Advent and Multiples in Svatantra Microfin for a combined total consideration of over USD 400 million.
Aadhar Housing Finance Limited
Advised on the sale Aadhar Housing Finance Limited to Blackstone.
Temasek Holdings Limited
Advised on investment in AU Small Finance Bank through preferential allotment of shares and convertible warrants for USD 130 million.
Advent International Corporation
Advised on the acquisition of (a) minority stake in Aditya Birla Capital Limited; and (b) majority stake in ZCL Chemicals Limited.
Aditya Birla Capital Limited
Advised on the rebranding of Aditya Birla financial services as ‘Aditya Birla Capital’ and creating an umbrella brand for multiple financial services entities of Aditya Birla Group.

Advised on the acquisition of various large-scale telecom assets from Reliance Communications Private Limited and its group companies.
