SEBI's Redressal of Investor Grievance through SCORES Platform and Online Dispute Resolution

On 20 September 2023 the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), issued a circular laying down the operating framework for the enhanced grievance redressal framework to be filed through scores on the online dispute resolution platform (Circular). The enhanced framework provides for auto escalation and routing of investor complaints on SCORES to the Designated Bodies before they are routed to SEBI in case of non-resolution. It also envisages tighter timelines for speedy resolution. In this ERGO, we have analyzed the key provisions of this Circular, which shall come into force w.e.f. 4 December 2023.
